Ever since I was a little girl, I wished for a large wooden chest to go at the foot of my bed. Over the years, I've collected heirlooms from my family, like quilts and a set of china, and I was hoping for a place to keep them safe. Exactly right
When my mother-in-law was well into her 90th year, she determined to get our youngest a blanket or 'hope' chest. Our daughter, however, wasn't so convinced she needed such a fine piece of furniture, until I sent her the link to your wonderful website. Olivia chose the steamer trunk in a warm cherry finish and some antique hardware, and promptly returned to college in another state. Grandmother passed a few months ago, but we knew we had achieved one of her last goals in finding the exact chest she would have chosen for our daughter. Olivia finally saw her trunk on graduation weekend/Mothers Day. It is certainly a treasured piece, beautiful in every way.
